US President Donald Trump has announced the details of his “reciprocal tariffs” on imports from all countries.

Under the measure, all countries will be subject to a 10% baseline tariff on their import into the United States, and the countries with which the United States has the largest trade deficits will have an individual higher tariff. For example, China will be imposed a 34% tariff, while European Union face 20%.

Most Australian goods will be subject to a 10 per cent tariff on import into the United States. The tariff will take effect from 3.01pm AEST on Saturday, 5 April.
